Demystifying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine
Have you ever wondered about how Chinese medicine works, or wanted to know more about how Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine can help you to be healthier? If so, I would be delighted to speak to your group about this extraordinary Asian healing art. The title of my talk is Demystifying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and in it I describe how, 3,000 years ago, the Chinese developed this powerful, natural medicine, and why it is now the most widely used medicine in the world. I shed light on the subject by explaining in simple, modern physiological language how Chinese medicine and acupuncture work, and what they effectively treat. In addition, I am happy to emphasize, in my talk, health issues that your members might find interesting. For example, I speak on treating athletic injuries, acupuncture facial rejuvenation, living pain-free with acupuncture and Chinese medicine, Chinese medicine for menopause and andropause, and other topics of interest. Please call with any questions. I love sharing about what I do. I look forward to our speaking together soon. Restore International
Restore International seeks audacious ways to bring justice to children and the poorest of the poor. We first began when our founder, attorney Bob Goff, traveled to India and witnessed atrocities carried out among young girls who were forced into a life prostitution. Since that time, Bob has set up and devoted the majority of his time working to ending human trafficking such as this. We now work in India, Uganda and the United States. In India and Uganda, we continue to work towards the end of human trafficking in all people. In Uganda, we also focus on restorative projects in the torn Northern area, such as water well and school construction. Here at home in the United States,Restore Internationals founder speaks at various universities, churches, and organizations. Bobs purpose in these speaking engagements is to bring awareness, excitement and hope regarding the issues of human trafficking and the feasibility of taking ones values and putting them into action.

Junior Achievement looks for partnerships with local community service organizations to bring enrichment curriculum into local elementary, middle and high schools. We have created exceptional materials, which teachers want in the classroom, but not every teacher will be able to find a volunteer within their parent community. Our highly effective programs help reinforce the value of education and teaches students about the world outside the classroom. We use hands-on activities that are as much fun for the volunteer as they are for the students. Please visit our website at www.jaba.org to review program materials and find out more about Junior Achievement. I would love to schedule a time to come out and make a presentation to the rotary or supply information for distribution or to include in your newsletter. CHANGING THE TIRES ON A MOVING TRUCK
Implementing a continuous improvement philosophy in your organization, adapting to change and managing growth present the same challenges as changing the tires on a moving truck. How do you keep your business moving and functioning during these transitions? In this session, you will begin to: 1)Understand how inertia and fear of the unknown affect your growth; 2)Make continuous improvement everyones responsibility every day; 3) Rid your company of sacred cows and weve always done it that way thinking; 4)Move on by accepting the premise that in order to get to 2nd base, you have to leave 1st; and 5) Examine the most important virtue every leader must demonstrate.

As part of the crew operating a 102 foot, 180 ton vessel, our scouts learn the meaning of teamwork in its most tangible form. We have a presentation that explains the unique opportunities we provide to Bay Area youth and the broad range of activities and events in which our Scouts participate. We usually bring along members and graduates of our program to answer questions. We are available on almost any date and with as little as 48 hours notice. I guarantee that unless you currently have a son or daughter in Sea Scouts, you will find what we have to say surprising, enlightening and intriguing. At the end of the presentation, we make an offer to your membership few other programs can match. Come out to the ship any weekend and see what were about. Walk our decks, tour the ship, talk to our crew, and meet the officers. See for yourselves how you can help us change lives and build dreams.

Living An Authentic Life
One of the major challenges we face in life is being true to ourselves. Often, our most important thoughts, beliefs, and dreams go unrecognized or unacknowledged. We sometime have great difficulty addressing what is most important to us regarding our relationships, careers, and life in general. Sometimes, the first chance to deal with these issues occur because of a major crisis such as the death of a loved one, a serious illness, a job layoff, or divorce. In other cases, we may experience an ongoing, internal conflict between the current state of our lives and the ways we genuinely wish them to be. Either way, these situations may provide the initial opportunities to deal with the choices and responsibilities for creating the lives that we want.Thornton Prayer, a personal coach dedicated to peoples full potential and effectiveness, can discuss these and related issues to help you examine more deeply and clarify your priorities in life. We will focus on the questions that may be most relevant to identifying what you truly want for yourself. Most importantly, we will review the beliefs that can determine how you view the world and how you can develop the tools and perspectives to assist you in living your life in the most authentic ways possible.

Savvy: What it is, where you got it, how to get more
While determination, drive, commitment and focus are essential business skills, theyre only half the picture--the half that helps you to keep your eyes on the prize, ignoring alien orders so you can persist with your plans until they succeed. The other half is savvy, the ability to detect alien orders, reading the faint writing on the wall and changing plans responsively. Savvy is largely a social skill. Its tracking, monitoring, and inventorying the subtle mix of motives that drive thought, conversation decisions, and action. Savvy is practical everyday mind reading taken to a fine art. Youve got savvy or else you wouldnt be where you are today. But you want more. We all do. All of us regret a time or two when we paid a high price for missing a faint signal that mattered. Decision scientist, author, and stand-up comedian Jeremy Sherman, Ph.D. has spent the past 10 years researching savvy and its interactions with determination, skepticism, introspection, teamwork and other essential qualities of strong leaders. Putting savvy in context he presents an absolutely new, and not the least bit magical method for honing your savvy to its finest acuity as efficiently and effectively as possible.

American Red Cross - Adopt-a-Drive Program
The American Red Cross delivers 10,000 units of blood to 40 Bay Area hospitals every month. 50% of these units come from blood drives held in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties.120 of these blood drives are held at high schools and colleges. These students are the blood donors of the future, and we need them to have a positive experience. Your Rotary Club can help! By "adopting" a high school in your local community, your club commits only four adults to help with a 6-hour blood drive at your adopted school just one to three times per school YEAR.It's a very small investment of time for a huge payoff. By "adopting" a school, your Rotary Club demonstrates (1) your presence in the community,(2)your commitment to youth, (3) your support of the community blood program and the American Red Cross. This 25-minute presentation describes the Adopt-a-Drive program AND trains your members for their duties at the blood drive. The program is fun, informative, and is designed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner meetings.

Would like to suggest that both a client (someone impacted by AIDS) and a volunteer join in a brief presentation.
