At the end of the six week course all volunteers receive a certificate of completion. This program can be utilized by individuals for their own knowledge or on a larger scale as part of a community team that would respond in the event of a disaster such as an earthquake or flood, etc. Graduates of this course are also eligible to further their training and become instructors for the CERT programs in their area.

I returned on January 12, 2007. It was such a great experience. I am willing and able to share the stories of the boys and their needs. I am currently working on upgrading some rooms at the orphanage and I am calling it the Mattress Project. I will be returning to the orphange in April 2007 and again in August 2007. For the August trip, I will be taking two college boys with me from New Hampshire. We have plans to re-do the rooms that the volunteers live in while they are there. Read about the popular concept in the Wall Street Journal, Coaxing Seniors Out from Behind the Wheel, CBS Evening News, Leave the Driving to Us, and others. A brief 10-15 minute talk includes humor, practical facts, and invites listeners to see the value of volunteerism for our communitys senior citizens.
